Fall Celebration…A True Celebration

“Students can not benefit from instructional practices or interventions that they do not receive!”  These were the words of Dr. Tanya Ihlo as she presented “contagious” information for the need to close the implementation gap and improve student outcomes.  80+ attendees, including individuals with dyslexia, parents, teachers, administrators, speech/language pathologists and community leaders gained insight to the need for evidence-based interventions within our educational settings.  “You can’t teach reading through reading!”  Explicit, direct instruction  with practice is key.  “Mastery isn’t teaching until they get it right, it’s teaching until they DON’T get it wrong.”
